Eye Clinic Svjetlost Banja Luka team on ESCRS congress in Vienna
At the recent congress European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons held in Vienna, Austria, a team of the Eye Clinic Svjetlost Banja Luka, led by Dr. Bojan Kozomara, MD, MSc was the only from Bosnia-Herzegovina that had a case report presented in the form or an electronic poster.
“I always advise my colleagues to research, learn, and write scientific articles, because that says more about us and what kind of doctors we are than any media or marketing tool out there. That’s how we came to be the only team from Bosnia-Herzegovina, among 7000 participants of this Congress, to have a presentation and show who we are, what we can do, and how we do it,” said Dr. Kozomara.
The main author of this case report is Dr. Ernesta Potkonjak, MD, while co-authors are Dr. Kozomara, Dr. Milos Milicevic, and Prof. Nikica Gabric who was supportive of his young colleagues. The Congress also gave great opportunities in learning about new trends and making new connections among other ophthalmologists from all over the world.
For the past ten years, Svjetlost Hospital Network is the leading chain of eye hospitals in South Eastern Europe, with more than 10.000 patients seen and treated every year. With a strong willingness for improvement and hard work, this healthcare network created excellent conditions for scientific progress for all of their staff, especially doctors.
This year, as for all the past 27 years, the annual congress of European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons rounded up the best and the biggest names in the world of ophthalmology. They have presented their latest findings and newest trends in the area of cataract and refractive surgery through lectures, workshops, discussions and case reports. The next, Winter Congress of European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons will be held in February in Athens, Greece.
